When you receive a decline for insufficient funds, this is because you did not have enough money on your Zestful card to cover the purchase attempted.

Remember: Zestful works like a debit card, NOT a gift card - in other words, the card must have enough to cover the purchase.

Common reasons for insufficient funds declines:

  • You may have reviewed your total balance in Zestful, but did not notice that your balance is made up of specific "sub-balances". Take a look at our balances overview article. 
  • Be aware of subscription/monthly expenses that hit towards the end of a period. Don't use up all of your balance before these expenses hit! 
  • If you simply just didn't have enough to cover the purchase, we recommend adding more funds from a personal funding source!
